We moved to the area 3 years ago and heard the food was great. We tried it tonight. We will add it to our regular rotation or just may eat here every time we dine out!
Chips & salsa we're perfect, cocktails were fantastic. Mexican street corn was the best we've ever eaten! Carne Asada and Poblano Chicken were outstanding.
A must restaurant for anyone seeking a delicious meal. HIGHLY recommend!
Our server was Cole and he was spot on! Just the best! -

We will never go to this restaurant again.
I called ahead and made reservations for five or my son-in-law's birthday.
When we got there, the rude hostess told us there was a two hour wait, and that they did not take reservations but it was call- ahead. We saw my name on the list, but clearly the hostess did not care.
We will not return to this terrible restaurant -

A split-decision meal with an awful lot of head scratching.
"Hi, I'd like to make a reservation for Friday."
"We don't take reservations."
"Oh."
"We do have a call ahead list though, would you like to be placed on that?"
"Yeah, a table for four at 6:30 please."
What's the distinction between a call ahead list and a (nonexistent) reservation? If you guessed "absolutely nothing", congratulations, you just won a basket of stale chips!
When I asked the child at the front counter what the difference was between the two, he couldn't really articulate it either. The best I can tell, the "call ahead" list is meant to make you feel slightly better about waiting a long time on a Friday night.
Other, more confounding enigmas popped up as our meal went on. "How are the margaritas this terrible (our table managed to finish roughly half of a margarita each, before abandoning the drinks altogether)? Why are our "frozen" margaritas not frozen? Where is our food?" These questions and more kept us hovering between suspense and disappointment throughout the evening.
Fortunately, the white cheese queso was actually quite good. Unfortunately, it was roughly 40 minutes later that we had our entrees. I ordered the Pollo Palomino, while everyone else at the table got Carne Asada. The food, when it came, was amazing. We were all fighting one another for the sides of corn.
Our waiter and the rest of the staff we encountered that evening were friendly and knowledgeable, so I'm just going to chalk this one up to our group showing up during prime-time on a Friday night. A weekday evening, less of a crowd, perhaps skip the adult beverages, and this might be a five star kinda place... -

The bacon wrap shrimp and cilantro lime rice is to die for! The carne asada is also delicious. I love Verde's, especially sitting on the patio. There is a lot of room for kids to play outside. Service tends to be a little slow, not sure if that's because we're outside or not? I'll definitely be back to eat at Verdes!

Mannnnnnnnnn
Wanted to come here for 3 years! Babies and life happens, date nights are rare. Every time we drive by it's packed, the reviews are stellar and the menu looks great! We came, we saw, we couldn't finish our meals. Started with the chips and salsa, chips were STALE! Like eating a cardboard box. Asked the young waiter if we could have some more chips since these were stale, brought another batch, worse! I could hear him ask a fellow waitress if they were stale and she replied yes as well. I know it's a cost cutting solution to serve day old chips, but good chips and salsa is like a first impression y'all. Yuck.
Next queso verde, not bad, pretty much cheesy pesto with bread and artichokes. I'm mixed on this one. Hubby loved it, me I was wanting queso, Tex Mex mind oriented, this was not remotely that. I think the menu mentions tomatillos in it but could not tell. If I was at an Italian restaurant it would sit better for me.
Husband only wanted simple ranchero enchiladas. He begged to go to Flores or El Rey, but I said "honey, let's try something new". His enchiladas were not enchiladas. It was like a Mexican lasagne. A layer of tortilla, with meat and sauce, tortilla repeat. Nothing rolled and the "ranchero" sauce was like salsa chunky, pico. This was the first time in our marriage my husband could not finish his meal. He was devastated, and I got exiled for choosing another restaurant.
I got the beef tostados... so so.
The WINNER and best menu item was my kids macaroni and cheese. My husband and I were sneaking bites in between. Fantastic. And the drinks were good.
I mean, I don't get it? Bad night? I'd be interested in maybe going again, but it would be solo, my husband would never return. Maybe I'd try the pork chop. Anyways, gotta recommend Torchys Tacos all day everyday.
